Morpheus8 RF Microneedling

Morpheus8 RF Microneedling is another RF microneedling treatment that allows your provider to adjust the depth of the needles to penetrate at varying levels of the tissue while delivering powerful RF energy to smooth and lift the skin on the face, neck, and body.

The Morpheus8 device is different from other RF microneedling devices because it can be customized to treat a range of skin concerns, from wrinkles and aging skin to unsightly scars, thanks to the customizable depth of RF energy, ranging from 1 mm to 8 mm. Scarlet SRF Microneedling

Scarlet SRF is a revolutionary RF microneedling device that uses short-pulse radiofrequency (SRF) energy to lift and tighten skin. It can be used on the face, chest, neck, body, and scalp to tighten and improve the skin’s appearance. Using microneedles to penetrate skin to the dermal layer and stimulate tissue coagulation around each of its 25 microneedles, this RF microneedling device is designed to treat a variety of skin issues with minimal downtime and faster healing.

Scarlet is safe for all skin types, and the technology is designed to increase treatment time and recovery time, resulting in skin tightening more quickly than traditional microneedling treatments. Scarlet uses a robotic arm to perform the treatment, ensuring consistent application of the device at the ideal depth required for effective treatment, speeding up the treatment time by reducing the number of passes required to treat each area of the face, scalp, or body.

The Procedure

RF microneedling is a non-surgical treatment with limited downtime that provides results similar to those following more invasive skin rejuvenation procedures.

Unlike lasers that use radiofrequency energy, RF microneedling devices bypass the skin’s outer layer thanks to the device’s microneedles. That allows increased intensity focused on the second layer of the skin, called the dermis, producing more noticeable results.

The treatment begins with numbing cream applied to the targeted area to enhance your comfort. Then the technician begins making “passes” across the skin as the pulsating needles puncture micro-channels and deliver the RF energy to the dermis, where it triggers the production of collagen. Each Genius treatment session usually requires at least three passes with the device, and the procedure can take up to 45 minutes. Scarlet uses a robotic arm to perform the treatment, requiring a single pass on each area being treated. Scarlet treatments take about 25 minutes to complete.

RF Microneedling FAQs

What can I expect after an RF microneedling skin-tightening treatment?

The results of the RF microneedling treatment won’t be immediately apparent. The procedure creates tiny wounds below the skin’s surface, triggering the gradual healing process that produces new collagen and elastin, the key components of smoother, tighter skin. Mild redness is the most common side effect, along with the sensation of a minor sunburn. Most patients can return to work and other normal activities a day or two after the procedure. Results will begin to become apparent in the following weeks as the deep layers of the skin heal and the surface tightens.

How many treatments will I need?

Each patient’s needs vary, but usually optimal results can be achieved after 2 to 3 treatment sessions.

If I have a tan or darker skin, is it safe to get an RF microneedling treatment?

Yes. Unlike an RF laser treatment, the RF microneedling devices bypass the external layer of skin. That significantly reduces the chances of hyperpigmentation, a complication associated with other skin resurfacing techniques.

Can I combine RF microneedling with other non-surgical cosmetic treatments?

Absolutely. You can discuss the options when you visit our med spa. For example, many patients choose injectable fillers such as JUVÉDERM®, Radiesse®, or Sculptra® Aesthetic to replace the volume lost through the normal aging process or enhance the lips. BOTOX® Cosmetic injections also complement the results of RF microneedling skin tightening treatments.
